Business Tangible Personal Property Tax

advisory services

Most counties and cities require a Business Tangible Personal Property Tax filing (BPPT), in order to operate. All business owners, including home-based businesses, are subjected to BPPT and must file annually. While the due date may vary depending on the location of the business, penalties may arise if filed late.

To complete the filing, you will need the following information:

  • IRS taxpayer ID (FEIN)
  • Business name, address, and contact information
  • List of business assets (including but not limited to, furniture, fixtures, equipment, machinery and tools)
  • Date of acquisition for each asset

*Note: Requirements may vary across different counties and cities.
